Latondra Newton is Vice President of Strategic Planning & Research and Corporate Diversity at Toyota Motor North America, Inc., where she oversees corporate planning activities, corporate image research, economic forecasting, competitor analysis and corporate diversity and inclusion strategy.
Newton has held a variety of positions since beginning her career with Toyota in 1991. She served as General Manager of the Team Member Development Center (TDC) at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA). TDC managed all engineering and manufacturing staff training and development initiatives in North America.
As Assistant General Manager of Human Resources, Management Development and Diversity Department, she started the corporate diversity function for North American manufacturing. She was also responsible for state and federal legislative/regulatory activity, media relations and community relations in her role as Assistant General Manager of Corporate Affairs.
Prior to leaving the purchasing organization in 1999, Newton managed the Facilities and Transportation Department, where she directed the procurement of capital equipment, building construction and logistics services for North America.
